Discover our selection of diecast models of the Piasecki H-25 Army Mule - Innovatively Designed, Rugged, and Collectible Helicopter Models.

The Piasecki H-25 Army Mule, also known as the HUP Retriever in its naval version, was an American compact utility helicopter developed in the late 1940s by Piasecki Helicopter Corporation. It was one of the first helicopters designed for the U.S. Armed Forces post-World War II and played a pioneering role in the development of rotorcraft technology.

Characterized by its tandem rotor design, which eliminated the need for a tail rotor, the H-25 was known for its stability and lifting capacity, despite its relatively small size. It served a variety of roles, including cargo transport, submarine detection, search and rescue, and medical evacuation. The helicopter was also used for carrier onboard delivery (COD) missions by the U.S. Navy. The Piasecki H-25 Army Mule's significance in early helicopter development and its versatile applications in both Army and Navy operations make it a fascinating subject for military aviation enthusiasts and model collectors, especially those with an interest in the early history of rotorcraft and their military use.
