Junkers Ju 87B Stuka

Great Model plane

Just what I was looking for. A very well made model with a fair bit of weight to it - heavier than I was expecting, but in a very good way! I cannot fault it. Arrived in around 8 days and packaged very carefully. My first order with AirModels and I am very satisfied.

So I’d like to start off by saying that I love this model. It is very heavy duty, owing that to the fact that it is die-cast and doesn’t seem like it will break under typical conditions to medium stress conditions. The landing gear are by far the weakest parts of the model as they can fall out if enough pressure is subjected onto them. However, while they can fall out, they can be re-fixated on the aircraft easily like a puzzle piece and they don’t fall out when the fuselage is on the model stand and or when the fuselage is simply resting on the landing gear on a table. Overall, very high quality parts. As for the decorations on them, they are perfectly historically accurate. They range from historical smooth-forest camo paint and 1930s to 40s German iron crosses. The symbol of the Germans third Reich is also on the tail of the plane, which is historically accurate.
Overall, definitely worth it, not just from the model alone but also the historical significance of this aircraft. From the Stuka siren to the blitzkrieg tactics of ww2, neither of those moves would’ve been achievable without this plane model or a model that would’ve been made in the same vein, ie a Close Air Support bomber. One disclaimer though, I’d like to extremely stress that I in no way support what the nazis did, they can rot for their crimes against humanity if they committed them (not all wehrmacht soldiers committed war crimes and not all were nazis. Look at general Erwin Rommel if you want confirmation).
I like this plane as it has a cool design similar to a Corsair, granted this plane came before the corsairs did, and it had a great historical impact on the world and very much so in movies. The Stuka siren sound effect is still used in movies to this day. It was a shrieking generated by little propellers mounted to the forward landing gear mounts which caused said sound when a certain speed was reached, primarily in dive bombing or cruising at high altitudes.
Sadly though, this model does NOT have these propellers mounted on the landing gear, but that signifies that it was more of the late model of Ju 87Bs. Only early war Ju 87Bs has the sirens but they were removed as they became an early alert to people below the plane after they stopped being terrified of the sound if they ever were, and also the propellers weren’t engines helping the aircraft and only increased the drag of the aircraft which made them even easier prey for new British fighters like the spitfires and Russian fighters.
Once again, amazing model!
