Manufactured by Douglas Aircraft Company, the B-26 Counter Invader was a twin-engine, light bomber and ground attack aircraft used extensively during the Korean War and Vietnam War. Originally designated as A-26 Invader during WWII, the B-26 was later modified for counter-insurgency roles, earning its "Counter Invader" moniker. It was known for its versatility, durability, and impressive firepower, featuring a combination of machine guns, bombs, and rockets, making it a formidable aircraft in various combat scenarios.

The B-26 Counter Invader had several variants, including the B-26B, equipped with improved armament and avionics for night operations; the RB-26C, used primarily for reconnaissance missions; and the B-26K, an extensively upgraded version for counter-insurgency operations in Southeast Asia. Each variant served unique roles, adapting to the evolving needs of military aviation and proving the aircraft's enduring legacy in air combat history.
